Travel insurance is coverage to protect risks and financial losses that may happen while traveling. Even the best, well-planned excursions can experience some form of risk ranging from minor inconveniences such as delayed luggage to major issues such as a medical emergency.

Do you need travelers insurance? In short, the best answer is depending what you can afford to loose. I always encourage my travelers to consider travel insurance. Here are a few good examples of the importance of travel insurance.

Lost, Stolen, or Delayed Luggage

In 2020, 853,000 bags were lost, delayed, or damaged by airlines. In some cases, it took an average of 2 days to be reunited with their rightful owners. With the peace of mind with travel insurance, you can be reimbursed for the lost, stolen, or damaged luggage or any personal items with Baggage Delay Coverage. You can be reimbursed for necessities purchased while your bags are delayed.

Adverse Weather or Natural Disasters

Issues may arrive that could lead to travel delays or can cause you to cancel your trip intirely. And yes, there are somethings that are beyond our control. Adverse weather is one of them. From snowstorms to earthquakes, travel insurance can cover you sound bad weather or a natural disaster causes a covered event, like flight cancellation.

Travel Delays or Interruptions

What else could go wrong? What about flight delays, unexpected flight cancellations, lost or stolen passport or traffic accidents could impact or completely interrupt your trip. A travel insurance plan can cover in many of those unfortunate events while you focus on taking care of your needs during the inconvenience and not as concerned as much about what it might cost.

Sickness or Injury Before or During a Trip

Are you prepared if you or your traveling companion becomes either sick or injured and unable to travel? Or a non-traveling family member is hospitalized or becomes deseased and you are unable to travel. Many travel insurance plans can assist you in those situations.

  1. Your child is sick and you are unable to travel and need to cancel your trip, you may be reimbursed for your prepaid, non refundable trip costs.

  2. If you are unfortunately injured during your trip, travel insurance may cover your medical transportation and expenses. Many health insurance plans do not cover international travel.

  3. If you are unable to continue your trip as a result of the injury, Trip Interruption Coverage could reimburse you for the portion of the trip that you missed and may help you return home.

Life as we know it is extremely unpredictable. There are many reasons people consider travel insurance. No one likes to lose money. If you believe you're spending more on your vacation than you can afford to lose, you may want to consider purchasing travel insurance.

Make the journey count✈️
